On December 11 th , 2019 it was reported that someone broke the large yellow plastic sign for Winchell's at 308 S. Van Buren. The victim stated that the sign was fine at 9:00 PM on December 7th, 2019 and he noticed it broken at 5:00 AM on December 8th , 2019. The damage to the Winchell’s sign was estimated at $6,000.
