Lakers want to trade for Dennis Schröder, but the Thunder say NO

The Oklahoma City Thunder (30-20) are currently sitting as the seven seed in the Western Conference. In the middle of fighting to maintain their playoff spot.

The Los Angeles Lakers are a team who are just trying to add another shooters to their team to make sure they can beat the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference finals (their thinking). So, the Lakers reached out to the Thunder’s front office with an attempt to snag Thunder guard Dennis Schröder, 26 years old, from them. Dennis Schröder is currently averaging 19 points a game, shooting 47% from the field and 39% from three.

The good news for Thunder fans is that conversation did not go very far. The Thunder do not want to trade Dennis Schröder, since they are right in the playoff mix in a tough Western Conference. The only way the Thunder would even consider giving up Dennis Schröder is if they were offered a hefty return, according to ESPN.

In my opinion, that hefty return would have to look like:

Thunder give: Dennis Schröder

Lakers give: Kyle Kuzma, Quinn Cook and a draft pick

And this is me being greedy because of how much Dennis Schröder means to the Thunder right now.

The NBA trade deadline is Thursday, February 6.
