(Oklahoma City, OK) Oklahoma schools have received the $16 million in grants in coronavirus relief. The Oklahoma State Department of Education along with Governor Kevin Stitt contributed $8 million in federal funds from Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act. Most of the 360 school districts who applied for grants were given funding based on enrollment and need.

Schools are focusing on internet connectivity and learning management systems for online schoolwork. Grants are only applicable to five categories; internet connectivity, content or learning management systems, mental health support, and training for remote learning.

In order to qualify, districts were required to pledge 30% of their own funds to these areas.
