(Enid, OK) This weekend, the Enid Comic Con will be on display at the Stride Bank Center on Saturday from 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday from 10 am – 4 pm. Among the many opportunities to bask in all things nerdy is the ability to meet Flash Gordon himself, Sam J Jones. Jones was the star of the cult classic film Flash Gordon who’s immortalized in the music of Queen. Jones also appeared in the movie Ted 2 along with Mark Wahlberg.
The convention will boast costume contests, comic books, collectibles, and the ability to connect with others who enjoy fantasy culture. An adult and children’s costume contest will be held on each day of the event, adults on Saturday, kids on Sunday. Masks are required for entry, however, a mask contest will be awarding a coolest yet functional mask with a random prize.
Panels will also be available each of the two days at noon, 1 pm and 2 pm. Noon panels are yet to be announced, 1 o’clock will be the Fly Film Festival, and cosplay at 2.
Chisholm Trail Broadcasting will be live on site on Saturday. Entry to the event is $10.
