(Enid, OK) Enid attorney Robert Faulk has been suspended from practicing law after pleading guilty to a felony and misdemeanor counts of domestic abuse.

Faulk was sentenced on Sept. 4, 2020, after pleading guilty to two charges of domestic abuse after an incident in May of 2019.

Faulk pleaded guilty to a felony count of domestic abuse – prior pattern of physical abuse. He received a two-year deferred sentence, headed by Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Faulk must adhere to random drug tests, complete a 52-week domestic violence cessation counseling program within the first year of his probation and attend weekly Alcoholics Anonymous or Celebrate Recovery meetings for the first 18 months of the probation.

The other charge Faulk pleaded guilty to was a misdemeanor count of domestic abuse. He received a one-year suspended sentence and must pay court costs. The sentence will run consecutively to the felony count.

Faulk will have until Oct. 5, 2020, to show “why this order of interim suspension should be set aside,” according to the court’s order. The Oklahoma Bar Association will have until Oct. 19 to follow-up with Faulk.

Faulk will have until Nov. 3 to “show cause in writing why a final order of discipline should not be imposed, to request a hearing, or to file a brief and any evidence tending to mitigate the severity of discipline.” The Oklahoma Bar Association will have until Nov. 18 to follow up with Faulk.

The Supreme Court issued on Monday an order of immediate interim suspension, which resulted in the suspension for Faulk.
