State Adds Another 1k COVID-19 Cases, Reports 9 More Deaths

(Enid, OK) Oklahoma gained 1,006 new COVID-19 cases and nine more deaths on Wednesday that were reported by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

Garfield County saw 14 new cases of COVID-19 after the record high of 66 on Tuesday, according to OSDH data. Eleven of those 14 new cases were in Enid. With the 11 new cases in Enid, it raises the active case total to 308 while Garfield County has an active total of 350.

All deaths reported Wednesday were in the 65 and older age group with two women and a man from Oklahoma County, men from Pawnee, Murray, Beckham, Pottawatomie and Tulsa counties and a Custer County woman. There have been 1,075 deaths in which the virus was the cause or a contributing factor since the pandemic started in Oklahoma in March, according to the OSDH.

Other Northwest Oklahoma county case increases Wednesday were four each in Woodward and Kingfisher, two in Woods and one in Noble County.
