Tampa Bay won ugly, and that’s not a bad thing. The last ugly game we saw from the Buccaneers was that primetime loss to the Bears a couple of weeks ago. It was encouraging for the outlook of this Tampa Bay team to see that all things don’t have to go right for them to win football games. Right now it looks like a collision course of Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl LV.

Time to pat myself on the back. The Dolphins are a good football team. In his first start as quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa was pedestrian at best, only throwing for 93 yards, including his first touchdown pass.

Yet, that Miami defense looks special. They effectively shut down the Rams who tore up a Bears defense when it mattered most. Sure, the Rams were on a short week and flew from coast to coast, yet Tua is only going to get better, and that defense deserves league-wide recognition.

The Bills effectively put the nail in the coffin of any playoff hopes in New England, where we’re seeing Bill Belichick on the losing end of a football divorce.

Despite the loss, the Ravens dominated the stat sheet against the Steelers on Sunday. Of course, a loss is a loss, but we did see Lamar come very close to completing a comeback in late in the game. Progress is in fact being made with Lamar throwing from the pocket when trailing. It’s just a matter of if the Ravens can improve enough in that facet of the game in time for the playoffs.
