Over 3k New COVID-19 Cases Statewide, 34 Add. Deaths Including Hennessey Resident

(Enid, OK) 3,142 new COVID-19 cases were reported statewide on Thursday and 34 additional deaths, including a Hennessey woman, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

There have been 2,882 deaths in Oklahoma in which the virus was the cause or a contributing factor, OSDH reported.

Of the 34 deaths, 23 were from the 65 and older age range including three men from Bryan County, two men from Comanche County, a man and woman each from Tulsa and Oklahoma counties; men from Kay, Pontotoc, Stephens, Pottawatomie, Grady, Pushmataha, Okmulgee, Rogers, Muskogee, and Wagoner counties; and women from Kingfisher, Greer, McIntosh and Cleveland counties.

Nine of the deaths were in the 50-64 age group including a man and woman from Atoka County; two men from Tulsa County; a Creek County man and women from Sequoyah, Pontotoc, Comanche and Marshall counties. A Custer County woman and a Pontotoc County man in the 36-49 age group were also reported.

Garfield County’s COVID-19 cases increased by 41 Thursday for a total of 6,197, with 537 active cases.

Other Northwest Oklahoma county case increases included eight in Kingfisher, eight in Noble, seven in Blaine, five in Woodward, four in Woods, three in Alfalfa and three in Major County.
