Dave Grohl joins Run The JewelsKiller Mike and Quincy Jones as members of a new U.S. advisory board to help support artists affected by the ongoing global pandemic. As members of the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA), they will “share their diverse knowledge and professional expertise in streaming, ticketing, management, and more to help NIVA and its members navigate through the remainder of this pandemic and rebuild the live entertainment ecosystem in a transparent, diverse, and inclusive way.”

Created in March of last year in response to COVID, NIVA now has over 800 venues which have come together and spearheaded the #SaveOurStages (#SOS) campaign.

The Save Our Stages Act recently became a law in the U.S. It includes $15 billion in dedicated funding for live venues, independent movie theatres and cultural institutions.

Grohl and the Foo Fighters have previously performed a set for the campaign from The Troubadour in Los Angeles, in addition to bringing back a couple of original designs of their 1995 tour T-shirts and donating proceeds from the sale to the cause.
