Election Day Preview for Garfield County

Today is the 2022 Primary runoff elections, on the ballot, today are several key statewide primaries as well as an important question for Garfield County voters. Up for grabs is the republican nomination for the United States Senate candidate, going head to head are TW Shannon and Markwayne Mullin.

While the democratic party is having a primary to see who the candidate from their party will be who will be running for that senate seat. Going head to head for that honor are Madison Horn and Jason Bollinger.

A local question will also be on the ballot for Garfield County voters, that question is whether or not to approve a 0.3% increase in the county sales tax for 20 years to fund an 8.5 million dollar plan to expand the Garfield County Jail which is over capacity.

Also on the ballot today are the republican primaries for Superintendent of Public Instruction which will be contested between Ryan Walters and April Grace. The Republican primary for State Treasurer will be contested between Todd Russ and Clark Jolley. While the Republican primary for Corporate Commissioner will be decided between Kim David and Todd Thomsen.

Finally, the Republican candidate for Commissioner of Labor will be decided between Leslie Kathryn Osborn and Sean Roberts
