At 11:00 am at 10th and Chestnut the City of Enid held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of phase 1 of the Chestnut Road Construction Project. The project made concrete repairs to about a block of road along East Chestnut Avenue.
They also made repairs to the waterlines that were underneath East Chestnut Avenue. Mayor George Pankonin and Ward Commissioner Derwin Norwood spoke about the accomplishment how they were proud of the workers who completed the construction.
Mayor George Pankonin was the 1st to try out the newly repaired road driving his car down East Chestnut Avenue.
