Dana Carvey and his wife, Paula Zwagerman, are thankful for all the support they’ve received following the death of their son, Dex, last week. Dex died due to an accidental drug overdose at the age of 32.
“This is just to say thank you,” Dana wrote in a statement shared to Instagram on Saturday (November 18th). The Wayne’s World star shared that he and Paula have been “overwhelmed” by the “love” and “compassion” people have shared with them.
“We received so many beautiful messages from people who knew Dex,” he added. “These touched us more than we could ever express in words.”
Carvey also announced that he will be stepping away from work and social media, as he, Paula, and their son Thomas “try to figure out what life looks like now” that they are “a family of 3.”
