Wendy Williams issued a statement on Friday (February 23rd), one day after her medical team revealed that she has been diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. The former talk show host said she has “immense gratitude for the love and kind words” she has received since sharing the news.

“I continue to need personal space and peace to thrive,” Williams added. “Please just know that your positivity and encouragement are deeply appreciated.”

This also comes after a judge in New York ruled that the documentary Where Is Wendy Williams? would still air on Lifetime, despite Williams’ legal guardian filing a lawsuit in an attempt to halt the premiere. Fans took to social media over the weekend to react to the footage in light of her diagnosis.

“That Wendy Williams documentary is SAD,” one person wrote on X.

Another commented, “I’ve seen enough clips of #WhereIsWendyWilliams to know that this should NEVERRRRRRR have aired. It’s disgusting that they’ve captured this lady’s most vulnerable moments like this.”
