James Taylor and Jackson Browne have just tagged 17 new cities onto their current North American trek, stretching the jaunt all the way to the middle of December. The new string of shows takes in stops in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, and New York.
James Taylor explained that as opposed to other types of artists, by the nature of how he works, he's revealing himself pretty much every time out: ["Y'know, I'm sort of self-assembled, or self-concocted out of what surrounded me, when. . . as I was coming up and what music I heard. And I think that that's part of it. But in a case such as mine, where I play guitar and I write tunes and I sing them too, you get a lot of the person involved. Particularly, the kind of, y'know, the autobiographical self. . . we'll self-centered, actually kind of work that I do. Jackson Browne told us that the composers that grew out of Southern California's early-'70s singer-songwriter era were a melting pot for all that came before them: ["We were the product of a love of music and really a kind of genesis of popular song. I mean, we were the direct recipients of the Beatles and Bob Dylan — and the (Rolling) Stones.
