Melissa Etheridge will undertake a 12-show off-Broadway residency next month. The run, which is dubbed “My Window: A Journey Through Life,” is set to run at Manhattan's New World Stages on October 14th, 15th, 16th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 26th, 27th, 28th, and 29th.

According to the official press release:

Known for her confessional lyrics and raspy, smoky vocals, Melissa Etheridge has lit up airwaves and arenas across the world for more than two decades with instant classics like “I’m The Only One,” “Come To My Window,” “I Want To Come Over,” and more.

In her world premiere theatrical solo show My Window – A Journey Through Life, the Grammy and Academy Award-winning singer/songwriter offers an intimate experience like never before, inviting theatergoers into an exhilarating evening of storytelling and music. From tales of her childhood in Kansas to her groundbreaking career highlights — with all of life’s hits and deep cuts between — Etheridge opens her heart & soul on stage to fearlessly dazzle audiences of all generations.

A while back, Melissa Etheridge explained being aware at an early age how writing personally and fully from the heart could connect her with an audience immediately: “From a time when I was very young I would discover that when I wrote personally, when I wrote from something that was truly in my heart and soul, people would respond to it. So I kept going down that road and it constantly was proved to me that the more personal I got — the more universal.”

Etheridge says that luckily, her pipes are not only intact, but these days, she's actually singing better than ever: “I think my voice is in better shape than it's ever been. I think I've learned how to take care of my body and that makes my voice stronger. I really didn't get that when I was younger. And just sort of wisdom through the years; you can just sort of reach into that on the performances.”
