Mick Jagger has donated an autographed Fender Stratocaster guitar for a COVID-19 relief auction in support of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). According to Anba.co.br, the guitar which is now valued at over $960,000, was donated by his son, Lucas Jagger and his mother — former Jagger flame, actress Luciana Gimenez.
Irma Alves, the Brazilian director at Fashion Inclusive Brazil, explained, "Mick Jagger only donates guitars for huge catastrophe relief auctions, and this is the COVID-19 guitar. . .We made an online auction, but the situation here (in Portugal) is a long way off, Portugal is in crisis, and the guitar has not been sold yet."
According to the report, the last signed instrument Jagger donated was sold for $484,000 in Monaco.
During a recent appearance on BBC Radio, Mick Jagger was pressed on the Rolling Stones' long-awaited new album, which will mark the band's first new original collection of songs in over 15 years: ["We recorded some, y'know, the same time we did '(Living In A) Ghost Town,' we recorded a bunch of tracks. So, actually I've been finishing up the vocals and some other instruments on them — and doing some mixes on them. I'm workin' on it. I mean, we've got to get together and do a couple more sessions, I think, y'know? And we're not really gonna get together right now, y'know?
