Sting has recorded a virtual cover of Squeeze's 1981 classic, "Tempted." Smoothradio.com reported that the Police frontman teamed up with Take That singer Gary Barlow's on his latest Crooner Sessions video to tackle the pop standard.

Gary Barlow, who started the online series during the UK's initial Covid lockdown posted, "My guest on #TheCroonerSessions today is the amazing Sting. Can't thank you enough for doing this sir. It appears we have a mutual appreciation for Squeeze. It was superb to perform this classic song from 1981 ‘Tempted’ written by the amazing Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook originally performed by one of our Crooner guests Paul Carrack."

Squeeze will be back out on the road with Hall & Oates throughout 2021. The band has always been known to replicate their classic '80s hits pretty faithfully on stage. Glenn Tilbrook, Squeeze's frontman and co-writer of the all the band's hits admits that it's tough to improve upon the band's classic original arrangements: ["Unless you're gonna completely go back to the drawing board, it's hard to unpick the arrangement from the song. I'm thinking of something like 'Another Nail For My Heart,' or say, for instance, like 'Tempted' — something which is so firmly wedded to the style that it was recorded, and the fact that it's so tightly written, there isn't a lot of room to play about. There are Squeeze songs like 'Take Me I'm Yours' or even 'Black Coffee In Bed' that lend themselves much more to being tweaked about in one way or another."] SOUNDCUE (:26 OC: . . . way or another)
