Country stars are speaking out in support of Beyonce's decision to to join the genre.
Darius Rucker told a TMZ photographer at LAX Wednesday (February 21st) that "Texas Hold Em" is a “great song,” and added he hopes Act II finally earns Bey her Album of the Year Grammy.
Additionally, Dolly Parton issued a statement on her Instagram account Thursday (February 22nd) in support of the pop superstar. The "Jolene" singer wrote, "I’m a big fan of Beyonce and very excited that she’s done a country album. So Congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single. Can’t wait to hear the full album!”
Lainey Wilson previously told Billboard on the People's Choice red carpet, "The truth is, country music is about storytelling, and Beyonce knows how to tell a story. So I think It’s awesome. I think it’s awesome for the country music genre."
