Meek Mill has offered the city of Philadelphia 10% of his music earnings in an effort to combat gun violence in his hometown. This initiative was announced following the tragic shooting death of Philly rapper Phat Geez.

While some, like DJ Akademiks, criticized the move, others expressed support for the contribution but suggested directing it toward community organizations rather than law enforcement.

Meek Mill also paid tribute to Phat Geez by sharing his anti-gun violence music video and highlighting the challenges faced by Black individuals in Philadelphia.
