Shakira spoke about her newfound independence and the benefits of being single in an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music. She revealed that she is enjoying the freedom to focus on her career and creative pursuits without feeling weighed down by the responsibilities of marriage. "In a way, it's kind of good not to have a husband because… I don't know why it was dragging me down, man," she said. "Now I feel like working. I feel like writing songs. I feel like making music."

Shakira admitted that balancing family and work was challenging in her past relationship, as she felt guilty and torn when she had to prioritize her music career. But she now feels “more completed now" than ever, in part thanks to the passionate support that she's received from her fanbase.
