3 Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident Near Enid

(Enid, OK) Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 60, west of Enid, on Tuesday morning.

The accident happened at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. 60 at Boomer Road about 1 mile west of Enid. According to the report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 84-year-old Carl Raymond Mack was driving a 2015 Chevrolet pickup south of Boomer Road and failed to adhere to the yield sign and was hit by Linda Meister, of Ringwood, who was driving east on U.S. 60.

Mack was admitted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City in stable condition with head and chest injuries, according to an OHP report. Meister was also taken to OU Medical Center and admitted in critical condition with leg, chest and head injuries. Meister’s passenger, 62-year-old Douglas Leory Meister, was admitted to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in stable condition with chest injuries.

The report lists the condition of both drivers as normal and the cause of the accident as failure to yield. Mack and Linda Meister were not wearing seat belts, but the report states that Douglas Meister had his seatbelt on.
