Colonel Nekitha M. Little will speak at NOC Enid Veteran’s Day Program

Colonel Nekitha M. Little, Commander, 71st Mission Support Group, 71st Flying Training Wing, Vance Air Force Base in Enid is going to speak at Northern Oklahoma College’s Veteran’s Day Program. The program will be on Thursday, November 9, at the Gantz Center Room 100 on the NOC Enid campus at 11:45 am.

Col. Little is the Installation Manager at Vance Air Force Base and is responsible for the $550M flying operations and base operations contracts, and all support for the Vance mission and community. This includes procurement. civil engineering, firefighting, security and law enforcement, communications, personnel, supply, housing, and many more.

Before her current position, she was the Director of Force Support Professional Development School. At the time, she was responsible for 19 military/civilian personnel and 12 contractors to deliver 23 courses over 91 classes.

Little has earned the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters*, the Air Force Achievement Medal with 2 oak leaf clusters, the Navy Achievement Medal, the Meritorious Unit Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with a silver oak leaf cluster, and the  Air Force Organizational Excellence Award.

The event will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the 1948 Women’s Armed Services Integration Act with special recognition and presentations to local female veterans.

*Oak leaf clusters are small bronze or silver twigs of four oak leaves with three acorns that are awarded Air Medal’s Ribbons for more than one bestowal of a particular decoration.
