Oklahoma Sets Single-Day Record in COVID-19 Cases Sunday, Garfield County Surpasses 6k Overall

(Enid, OK) Oklahoma set another single-day record with 6,487 cases of COVID-19 reported on Sunday, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health. The OSDH also reported 23 more deaths, including an Aline man.

There have been 2,761 deaths in Oklahoma in which the virus was the cause or a contributing factor, the OSDH reported.

Of the 23 deaths reported, 17 were in the 65 and older age group including men from Alfalfa, Canadian, Ottawa, Lincoln, McCurtain, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Stephens counties; and women from Beaver, Ottawa, Beckham, Oklahoma, Bryan, Comanche and Creek counties.

There were also five from the 50-64 age group including two men from Tulsa County and one man each from Pottawatomie and Wagoner counties. A Delaware County woman and a Tulsa County man in the 36-49 age group also was reported by the OSDH.

Garfield County reached 6,000 overall cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, with 179 more cases reported Sunday, according to OSDH. Of the overall cases, 613 remain active in the county.

Other county case increases in Northwest Oklahoma included 86 in Woodward, 58 in Kingfisher, 23 in Major, 11 in Noble, nine in Grant, seven in Blaine and five each in Alfalfa and Woods.
