Over 2.9k COVID-19 Cases Statewide, 16 More Deaths Reported Thursday

(Enid, OK) The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 2,975 new cases of COVID-19 and 16 more deaths statewide on Thursday.

Of the 16 deaths, 13 were in the 65 and older age group including four men in Custer County, one woman in Muskogee County, one man in Greer County, one man in Beckham County, one woman and two men in Oklahoma County and two women and one man in Tulsa County.

The other three deaths were in the 50-64 age group including three men in Oklahoma County.

The OSDH has reported 2,144 deaths reported in Oklahoma, in which the virus was the cause or a contributing factor.

Garfield County gained 15 new cases on Thursday for a total of 4,749 since March with 469 active cases, according to OSDH. Of the overall Garfield County cases, 4,270 have been in Enid, with 407 active cases present in the city.

Other county increases in Northwest Oklahoma on Thursday included 19 in Noble, 13 in Woodward, 12 in Kingfisher, 11 in Alfalfa, three in Blaine, three in Major, three in Grant and one in Woods County.
