State Sees Over 3k New COVID-19 Cases Wednesday, 42 More Deaths Reported

(Enid, OK) Oklahoma gained 3,238 new COVID-19 cases statewide, with 42 new deaths, including a Kingfisher County man, reported by Oklahoma State Department of Health reported on Wednesday.

The Kingfisher County death was a man in the 65 and older age group, OSDH said, which would raise the county’s COVID-19 death count to 8.

Of the 42 deaths, 34 were in the 65 and older age group including one man and one woman in Kiowa County, two women and one man in Comanche County, one man and one woman in Creek County, two men in Cleveland County, one man in Washington County, one man and one woman in Delaware County, one man in Kingfisher County, one woman in Pottawatomie County, one man and one woman in Muskogee County, one man in Nowata County, one man in Custer County, three women and five men in Oklahoma County, one woman in Rogers County, and two women and five men in Tulsa County.

Four of the deaths were in the 50-64 age group including one man in Cleveland county, one woman in Grady County, one woman in Oklahoma County and one man and one woman, both in Tulsa County. Two deaths were in the 36-49 age group including one man in McCurtain County and one woman in Comanche County. The death of a woman in the 18-35 range in Delaware County was also reported.

Garfield County gained 54 new cases Wednesday, with 516 active cases, according to OSDH. 446 of the active cases are in Enid.

Other county increases in Northwest Oklahoma on Wednesday included 16 in Kingfisher,16 in Woods, 12 in Woodward, seven in Noble, six in Blaine, four in Major, three in Alfalfa, and three in Grant County.
