Tom Brady will not return to the Patriots, where will he play in 2020? Let’s Make a Prediction

Tom Brady announced on his personal Twitter page that he will not be returning to the New England Patriots in 2020. Brady played for the Patriots and Bill Belichick for 19 seasons, and was able to bring home six Lombardi trophies. But Tom Brady wanted to leave and in his goodbye post Brady said, “I don’t know what my football future holds but it is time for me to open a new stage for my life and career.”

Here is the full post from Brady:

If Brady wanted to stay, Patriots owner Robert Kraft made it very clear that they would have worked out a deal, “but Tom Brady wanted to leave.”

So now the question looms, where will Tom Brady play in 2020? After spending 19 years and winning six Super Bowls in New England, will he chase the money? Will he go to another team to prove he doesn’t need Bill Belichick to win a championship? Brady may be the greatest quarterback of all time, but people have to remember he is 43 years old.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, “The Bucs and Chargers remain in the mix. Sounds like the plan now is for Brady to go dark on everyone until he makes his decision.”

Here is a list of where Brady could end up playing in 2020, with a few dark horses.

Los Angeles Chargers

Tom Brady could go to Los Angeles. Phillip Rivers is a front runner to land in Indianapolis after the Chargers made it clear they are moving on from Rivers. The Chargers have a strong offense and defense, maybe all they need to add to the group is the GOAT, Tom Brady. But does Brady really want to play in the same division as Patrick Mahomes?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Bruce Arians needs a quarterback. He needs a leader. Someone who can take his team to the next level. It has already been reported that the Bucs have offered Brady just north of $30M a year. This one would be a fun challenge. What else does Brady need to prove? He could take all the money and play for a team with solid offensive weapons led by Mike Evans.

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers just announced they are going to allow Cam Newton and his agent seek a trade. This seems like another fun choice for Brady. Young head coach and offensive guru in Joe Brady, who just won a College Football National Championship at LSU. This would give Carolina the chance to compete in the NFC South right away, while a young QB could learn under Brady.

Chicago Bears

The sooner the Bears admit Mitch Trubisky is not the answer the better. They have an elite defense already and that won’t last forever. Brady could lean this way and play for the Bears in Chicago where football is LOVED. Only issue is, does Brady really want to play outdoors in the cold?

PREDICTION:

I think Tom Brady ends up signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He will have Mike Evans to throw to and a stellar offensive mind in Bruce Arians. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that they are offering Brady just north of $30M. Imagine a NFC South with Drew Brees, Tom Brady, maybe Jordan Love (Carolina) and Matt Ryan. Oh boy.
