In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Enid Head Football Coach Brad Cornelson to discuss the upcoming matchup against Deer Creek.
The coach began by discussing how practices went:
“It was good. We were focused on ourselves, but [during the] off week, the chances are some guys are banged up to get them feeling better. For us, our main emphasis was ‘getting better,’ running the ball and stopping the run…in my mind, that’s the foundation of this game and in something we’ve struggled with considerably….”
Coach Cornelson discussed the Deer Creek team and the strengths they have:
“They’re a really good team. They’ve lost a couple of close games to some good teams…but they [have] some really good looking kids, got some skilled guys that are impressive, some guys up front that really get after it. So, [they’re] really good. Coach has been there for a long time, so we know we’ve got a big challenge in front of us.”
