In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Enid Head Football Coach Brad Cornelson to discuss the upcoming match against Jenks.
The coach began by discussing the previous matchup against Edmond North, especially with the lightning delay:
“I think everybody was ready for that…going into it. I don’t think it was a big shock on either side. But it was an interesting game. At some point in the second quarter, I looked up [at] the scoreboard and [saw] 14 to three or something like that, and [thought] we’re playing pretty good. The next thing, it’s halftime, and we’re down 30 or whatever it was…we played hard, found a way to get some stops, move the ball a little bit, [and] get some points on the board early. Just some critical mistakes, some errors….”
Coach Cornelson gave some insight into the Jenks Trojans as well as what to expect:
“They’re really good across the board, like they are most years. They’ve got size, speed, a lot like we talked about Bixby, they’re very well coached and disciplined. They mix it up [and] do a good job with their schemes. There are multiple in what they can do as well. Really good-looking team [gonna] be a big challenge for us for sure.”
