1937 - 2026
JoAnn was born on April 9, 1937 in Ponca City, OK to Opal & Harry McAnulty. As the only child in the extended family, she was especially close to her Aunt Hazel and Aunt Gladys. In her youth, she would spend her time horseback riding, working cattle, and participating in the Girls Athletic Association. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1955. After she completed her teaching degree at Oklahoma State University, she taught science and physical education at East Junior High (East Middle School) until her retirement.
JoAnn loved to travel, shop, and shop while she travelled. She enjoyed visiting her vacation home in Branson, MO. A dedicated Oklahoma State fan, she held season tickets to Cowgirl basketball for many years. More often than not, an Oklahoma State sport was on the television or radio. She enjoyed watching birds, documenting animal visitors, and overseeing her collection of beautiful plants around her home. JoAnn was incredibly skilled at sewing, quilting, and embroidering - it was one of her favorite methods of affection to her loved ones.
JoAnn had two children: Larry Andrews (wife Kristi) and Sue Ann Branson. Her grandchildren are Levi Branson (wife Ashley), Shannon Andrews, and Jamie Andrews. Her great grandchildren are Hailey, Easton, Peyton, Aubrey, and Harper. She also had many adored pets throughout her life she considered family.
Graveside services will be held at Odd Fellows (IOOF) Cemetery in Ponca City, OK on Thursday May 21, 2026 at 12:00 pm. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
