Demetrius “Mimi” Miller, 42, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away on May 29, 2026.
Mimi was a devoted father, son, brother, coach, and friend whose presence brought joy to everyone around him. He had a gift for lighting up every room he entered, and his genuine spirit, infectious smile, and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Above all else, Mimi loved his children unconditionally. He was his children’s biggest supporter and greatest fan, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer them on in the sports they loved. Wrestling held a special place in his heart, and he took immense pride in watching his children follow in his footsteps. His encouragement, guidance, and unwavering support will remain with them forever.
A talented athlete himself, Mimi was a three-time Oklahoma high school state wrestling champion. His passion for sports extended far beyond his own accomplishments. He dedicated countless hours to coaching and mentoring young athletes in both football and wrestling, helping shape not only better competitors but better young people. He believed in every child he coached and made a positive impact on the lives of many families throughout the community.
Mimi is survived by his children, Braxton Horinek, Elijah Horinek, Kayden Culver, Devon Miller, Ayson Miller his parents David and Sherry Miller; his brother, Marcus Miller; and his sisters, Leah Arterberry and Alexis Delaney, and the mother of his children and lifelong supporter, Gina Stangl; along with numerous extended family members, friends, former teammates, athletes, and community members who loved him and who remained connected through years of mutual support and care dearly.
Though his time here was far too short, Mimi’s legacy of love, strength, leadership, and kindness will live on through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
