James Micheal McCauley Jr. pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the role he played in the drug overdose death of Nathan Andrew Ritchey.
According to the Enid Police Department press release, on the morning of April 5, 2025, the department responded to the 300 block of North Adams for an unresponsive male, later identified as Ritchey.
Life-saving efforts were made but unsuccessful. Narcotics Detective Brad Davis began investigating Ritchey’s death.
During the investigation, it was learned that McCauley provided fentanyl to Ritchey. McCauley was also present at a separate drug overdose call the day before Ritchey’s death.
McCauley was sentenced to five years in prison followed by 15 years of probation.
