CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the OBA Head Football Coach Chris Cayot to discuss the offseason.

The coach began by sharing how the team makes the most with the limited opportunities the team has to practice:

“A lot of kids [are] involved in other things, but we went out a little bit. It’s really not what you’re used to as far as Enid or Chisholm or something like that, but we just went out and worked a little offense, a little defense, a lot of walking and talking. We have a lot of kids back, a few kids filling in some spots, so those kids got brought up to speed and everybody got refreshed with what we like to do.”

Coach Cayot discussed some of the teams OBA will face in the upcoming season:

“Mountain View-Gotebo, they made a deep dive in the Class C playoffs last year. I’ve talked to Coach Landley up there at Medford. He said they’re a good group. They [have] a lot of guys coming back. So obviously, they’re going to be really good. Okeene is always really good. So it’ll be a battle just to try to get a good playoff spot.”
