In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Ethan Jenlink, former state champion, Timberlake Quarterback, Timberlake assistant, and Southwestern KS QB, to talk about taking the Ringwood head coaching job.

Jenlink began by sharing how he feels about the new position:
“It’s been a blessing so far. Being only 22 years old, it’s kind of weird being a head football coach, but super excited for this opportunity and ready for the season to get started.”
Jenlink shared how summer practice has gone:
“It’s gone really well. We’re completely healthy. We’ve had good numbers all summer. Boys are really committed, and they want to make a change. Super excited to see what we can do this year. Offseason’s gone great. Weights [have] gone great.”
He expanded on the game plan for the Red Devils’ offense and defense:
“A lot of the stuff that I’m going to be doing is stuff that I’ve learned from Coach Severin, but getting to play 11-man for two years in college also opened my eyes about the offensive side of things. So, I’m going to try to incorporate a lot of what Coach Severin taught me…see if I can mesh it all together and put an offense together. Then defensively, we’ll be all around. We’re going to try to mix a lot of things up, see what works for us in our scrimmages in our first couple weeks, and we’re going to stick with that and go for it.”
