The Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce is set to present the 2026 Cherokee Strip Celebration in Downtown Enid from Sept. 18-19.
The Cherokee Strip Celebration celebrates Enid’s rich history and its founding during the 1893 Land Run. The citizens, families, businesses, nonprofit organizations and community groups that make up the Enid community are brought together to celebrate both the city’s storied past and bright future.
The festivities begin downtown on the courthouse lawn on Friday Sept. 18 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with Lunch on the Lawn. Authentic Indian tacos and a drink will be available for $12 while supplies last.
Then, Saturday will see no shortage of fun activities happening in Downtown Enid with vendors being set up from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
The Cherokee Strip Parade will also begin downtown at 10:30 p.m. For the first time in the history of the parade, there will be cash prizes for the top three overall entries with 1st place winning $500, 2nd place winning $300 and 3rd place winning $200. Vendor applications can be found here, the deadline for entry is Thursday, Sept. 10.
Below you can see a diagram of the parade route and the road closure being enforced in the surrounding areas. For the safety of the public, the parade route will be blocked to vehicle traffic on Saturday, Sept. 19 starting at 7 a.m.
