CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Hennessey Head Football Coach Mark Cox to discuss the matchup against Millwood.
The coach began by sharing what has led to the team’s success:
“Our second loss against Thomas really was an eye-opener for our guys that we needed to do some things better, and they really got refocused that next week as we were preparing for the Perry game, sharper in practice and played with a better effort…we’re a lot more physical, so all [of] those things are big deals to us.”
Coach Cox shared some insight on what to expect from Millwood:
“They’re very athletic. They’ve got a lot of guys who can make plays, and they’re big up front. I mean, they’ve always got several big linemen. They fly around on defense, run to the ball well…You know what to expect with Millwood. They’re always going to be athletic, play hard, [and] have good playmakers. So yeah, this year they’re no different. We’ve got to play really well to have a chance to beat them Friday.”
