CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with PCH Head Football Coach Tanner Bowman to talk about Homecoming against Cyril.
The coach began by sharing what has led to the team’s success this year:
“If you watch us play, the thing that probably sticks out the most is just that we play pretty hard. I think we’ve got a lot of guys bought into what we want to do, and you’re seeing the results on the field…These guys soak up information like sponges. They take coaching really, really well. I think that these guys also know that there’s a standard that we’re wanting them to uphold, and if they play below that standard, they know what they can expect from us as coaches in terms of how we address it.”
Coach Bowman shared some insight into the matchup against Cyril:
“They’re extremely athletic…We’re going to try to keep the ball out of their hands. They’re explosive [and] have the ability to score long touchdown runs, throw the ball through the air. And so, it’s going to be, I think it’s going to be a game tonight, especially with the weather being kind of unpredictable. Just be disciplined and try to make fewer mistakes than the other team, and that could be the difference in the game.”
