In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Cherokee Head Football Coach Bryce Schanbacher to discuss the upcoming matchup against Seiling.
The coach began by sharing what has led the team to success this year:
“The guys are working hard and having a lot of fun out there, and hard work pays off. So, I think we had a little taste of success last season, and [we] talked about the things that it was going to take to carry that over into the season this year. They’ve taken that and run with it. So far, they’ve played really well.”
Coach Schanbacher gave some insight for the matchup against the Wildcats:
“They’re tough and physical. I don’t think that record is any indication of the type of team that they are; they have had some injuries and some guys out, and they’ve played a brutal schedule so far. And so, they’re going to be extremely physical up front…It’s going to be a really tough ball game for us, and one we’re going to have to play extremely well in.”
