1947 - 2026
LouAnn Higgs Summers of Blackwell, Oklahoma, was born on October 11, 1943, and passed away on October 12, 2026, in Oklahoma City. She will be remembered for her kindness, her love of family, and the many lives she touched.
LouAnn had a passion for golf and was an accomplished player who became a coach, mentor, and playing partner to many. She taught with patience, humor, and, at times, a touch of wit, fostering a love of the game in those fortunate enough to play alongside her. For many years, she also served her community as co-owner of Rosi Lou’s Boutique in Blackwell.
Above all, LouAnn cherished her family. Spending time with those she loved was one of her greatest joys. Whether playing shuffleboard in the shop, enjoying cards or dice around the table, or sharing a cup of coffee on the porch, she had a way of making people feel special and valued. Friends and loved ones will fondly remember her annual birthday phone calls, a simple but meaningful tradition that reflected how much she cared. Her legacy is one of love, kindness, generosity, and true friendship.
LouAnn is survived by her beloved husband, Merle Summers; her sister, Tracie Higgs Lamberson, and husband, Garry; her children: Bob Summers and wife, Kathy; Missy Corn and husband, David; Merle Summers and partner, Sonya McCauley; Mikki Summers Renfro and Chantelle Summers, along with Chantelle’s partner, Bailie Vowel. Lou’s story continues through the lives of her amazing 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Francis Higgs; her brothers, Kurt, Carl, and David Higgs; and her sisters, Darla Lee Higgs Wyeno, and Janice Higgs Tully.
