Some Dave Chappelle fans walked out during his stand-up show in Boston last week, after he made remarks about the Israel-Hamas war, according to The Wall Street Journal. Chappelle is known to make controversial statements, as he has faced heavy criticism in the past for his anti-trans comments.

The Half Baked actor reportedly condemned the Hamas attack in Israel earlier this month, which left more than 1,400 people dead, but he also “accused Israel of killing innocent civilians and committing war crimes,” and “said the US was guilty of aiding the slaughter of innocent civilians.”

This caused mixed reactions in the crowd. Some audience members yelled, “Free Palestine,” while others walked out. “We walked out and met up with many other Jews leaving the show. Never in my life have I felt so unsafe and so fearful of what I was witnessing,” one audience member said.
