Oprah Winfrey is leaving the board of WeightWatchers after nearly a decade, after revealing late last year that she decided to start taking a weight-loss medication. “I look forward to continuing to advise and collaborate with WeightWatchers and CEO Sima Sistani in elevating the conversation around recognizing obesity as a chronic condition, working to reduce stigma, and advocating for health equity,” Winfrey said in a statement.

She has served on the WeightWatchers board since 2015, when she acquired a 10% stake in the company. Oprah hasn't revealed what drug she's taking, but her contract with WW states that she “will not engage in any other weight loss or weight management business, program, products or services.”
