Dr. Dre revealed on SiriusXM's The Life of Mine with James Corden that he suffered three strokes following a brain aneurysm in 2021. During his hospitalization, Dre shared that he initially woke up with discomfort behind his right ear, leading to severe pain. Urged by his son's friend, he sought medical help and was eventually admitted to the ICU at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

"I was there for two weeks," he said. "I’m hearing the doctors coming in and saying, ‘You don’t know how lucky you are.'” Despite maintaining a healthy lifestyle, Dr. Dre was unaware of his high blood pressure. “High blood pressure in Black men, that’s just what it is. They call it the silent killer. You just have no idea, so you know, you have to keep your s— checked,” Dre said.
