The 3rd Annual Downtown Teen’s Auto Show is set to headline First Friday September, Main Street Enid’s monthly downtown event on Friday, Sept. 4 from 6-9 p.m.
EnidLIVE! sat down with Main Street Enid executive director Natalie Tuohy to talk about the schedule for the auto show, the aims of the event and how this First Friday intends to set itself apart from previous events this year.
Tuohy talked about how the Downtown Teen’s Program was responsible for planning this month’s event and also what they decided to add to the experience.
“We have a teen program where we teach them leadership skills and how to plan events, and they really have to do it from the ground up,” Tuohy said. “This year they decided to continue on with the auto show, but we have added not only cars and trucks, but we’ve also added motorcycles this year.”
Tuohy also discussed the cash prizes up for grabs for anyone who enters a vehicle and how the judging will work.
“We have some great judges that are actually familiar with the ins and outs of [automobiles],” Touhy said. “We will also have a people’s choice awards.”
In addition to the auto show, First Friday Sept. will also have many of the usual attractions including food trucks, great deals at downtown shops, vendors and live music. The bands and performers coming to the event will include 12 Pack Poet, Knight Ryder, the Bad Habit Abbott Project, Larry Newsom, the Bays Brothers and Mason Benton.
