Enid Public Schools & The City of Enid are announcing a change in traffic flow on West Chestnut Avenue and North Oakwood to increase the safety of the students during morning and afternoon school traffic.

The change will be as follows: The stop cycle is 50 seconds and provides enough time to clear both directions of travel for these pedestrians.

The program will only be effective during specific hours: 7:30 am – 8 am, and 3 pm – 3:30 pm. The traffic flow will return to normal outside of these times.

“As a reminder, pedestrians have the right of way. Motorists are advised to allocate extra travel time when passing through this area during the designated hours, to obey posted traffic control signs, and to exercise extreme caution while driving in this area.”
