The Alzheimer’s Association is gearing up for its Annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.
Slated for Oct. 25, the walk will take place on the Garfield County Courthouse in downtown Enid. A party will be held at 9:30 a.m., and the ceremony and walk will follow at 10 a.m.
Since 1989, the Alzheimer’s Association has mobilized millions of Americans to lead the way with Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the event aims to encourage donations to raise critical funds for Alzheimer’s prevention, treatment, and progress towards a cure.
Alzheimer’s disease is a type of dementia that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. Symptoms can grow so severe as to interfere with daily tasks.
