(Enid, OK) The city of Enid will meet on Monday to approve a private agreement to the installation of a new methane collection system at Enid’s landfill and selling the leftover gas.

The city commissioners will vote on a 25-year-minimum partnership with Scissortail Renewables LLC, during Monday’s meeting, with the option to extend it for two five-year periods.

Scissortail Renewables would install, operate and maintain a system that would reduce the landfill’s methane emissions, with no cost to the city.

The commissioners will meet at the Stride Bank Center to approve the agreement at 6:30 p.m. Monday, a day earlier than normal because new commissioners will be sworn into their new positions. This action must be done on the first Monday of May, according to the Enid city charter.
