The City of Enid has announced a measured update to residential solid waste rates which will – according to the Enid City Commission – help maintain the quality and reliability of service while planning responsibly for the future.

Starting on July 1, 2026, the rate for a residential polycart will increase from $16 to $18 per month, with rates for additional carts being raised from $5.50 to $9 per month. Additionally, a 2% annual adjustment will begin on Jan. 1, 2027, to help avoid sudden increases in future years. These changes will only apply to residential polycart services, with bulky item rates remaining $20 for the first trip and $65 for additional trips.

These changes arrive amidst increases to operation costs for specialized solid waste collection equipment, increases brought on by supply chain challenges and inflation. Despite these adjustments, Enid’s rates will remain competitive with other Oklahoma communities.

From 2021 to 2025, solid waste collection truck costs rose by approximately $145,000, with costs projected to continue rising this year. The average costs for residential polycarts has risen approximately $30 from 2021.
