The City of Enid has outlined several ways that tornado relief efforts will continue and expand in the coming days.
Here is what the City has outlined:
Volunteer Agricultural Cleanup Effort Scheduled
This Saturday, May 9, a large-scale volunteer initiative will carry-out a cleanup of five agricultural areas impacted heavily by the recent tornado.
This initiative, coordinated by Tony Weedn and the Enid Volunteer Emergency Response Team (EVERT), will entail approximately 400 volunteers assisting in cleanup efforts over the course of two shifts: 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 12-3 p.m.
Plus, the Salvation Army will deploy four canteens to provide lunch for volunteers throughout the day, and Enid Public Schools will send its transportation team to supply two buses to assist in moving volunteers and other logistics.
Landfill hours will be 7 a.m.-6 p.m. on Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday
Meal Service Transition at Forward Staging Area (FSA)
Following the conclusion of regular meal service at the Forward Staging Area (FSA) this past Thursday, Angel Delight will host a Mother’s Day dinner on Sunday, May 10 at the FSA. This dinner will specifically serve the Gray Ridge community.
Ongoing Recovery and Infrastructure Work
Planning is underway to continue the removal of concrete foundation in impacted areas as part of the long-term recovery and rebuilding operations.
