KC and the Sunshine Band is an old funk group formed in 1973 in Hialeah, Florida, by Harry Wayne Casey—aka “KC.” They’re best known for their infectious dance hits like “Get Down Tonight,” “That’s the Way (I Like It)” and “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty.”
They scored five No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and were the first act since The Beatles to land four No. 1 pop singles in a single year.
Their music helped define the disco era with a blend of R&B, Latin rhythms and funky grooves that have carried throughout generations.
