EnidLIVE’s Derek Darr sat down with the Enid Fire Department to talk about the 2025 Guns N’ Hoses game, as well as their successful campaign to raise $1000 for the Oklahoma Firefighter Burn Camp.
EFD Cpt. Cody Keller expanded on the Oklahoma Burn Camp and how the non-profit organization helps kids in need.
“The Oklahoma Burn Camp is for kids and teens who have been burned throughout their lives, and they get together with people that are like them, so they have their own camp and they can see that they aren’t misfits in the world. They have people with them, and they can guide them through and feel like normal people out in the world; so it’s really great.”
The firefighters also took the time to talk about their softball game with the police department, a game the EFD won 3-2. Keller talked about the friendly rivalry surrounding the game.
“Oh, they’ve always got a lot of attitude. That’s what makes all [of] this so fun. We decided ‘Hey, this would be a good idea. Why don’t we wait until a softball game to beat each other up?’ Let’s do it a couple of times on the radio before we get there.”
