The Enid Public Library is joining thousands of partners nationwide to celebrate National Voter Registration Day.

On Sept. 17, volunteers from the library will help community members register to vote online or on paper. They will also assist the public in checking their registration status.

Only 55.5% of registered voters participated in the 2020 election. The Enid Public Library aims to increase that number with its participation.

Enid Public Library’s Program Coordinator Margo Holmes released a statement regarding the event.

“Every eligible citizen deserves the opportunity to exercise their right to be heard at the ballot box. It is crucial for individuals to verify their voter registration status,” Holmes said. “Let’s work together to ensure a strong and representative democracy.”
